Facial Harmonisation
Facial harmonisation in Marylebone, London: a planned combination of dermal filler areas, and anti-wrinkle injections where prescribed, sequenced over several appointments to bring the proportions of your face into a more natural balance.
The short answer
What is facial harmonisation?
Facial harmonisation looks at the face as a whole rather than one line or one area at a time. Helena assesses how the cheeks, chin, jawline, temples, lips and the folds around the mouth relate to each other, then plans a combination of dermal filler placements, and anti-wrinkle injections where they are prescribed, to restore balance where volume has shifted or been lost. Treatment is designed and sequenced as a journey over several appointments, so each step can settle before the next is placed. The aim is a refreshed version of you, and results vary between individuals.

Patient journey
What to expect from a facial harmonisation plan
Consultation & preparation
Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and vitamin E for 48 hours before each filler appointment to reduce bruising, and arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Tell Helena about any medicines, allergies or previous injectable treatments at consultation. Do not book an appointment within two weeks of dental work or an important event.
During treatment
Aftercare
Expect some swelling and possible bruising for a few days after each filler session; avoid makeup for 12 hours, and skip strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas and facial massage for 48 hours. Helena reviews each stage after two weeks before placing the next. Where anti-wrinkle injections form part of the plan, stay upright for four hours and avoid rubbing the treated area on the day.

FAQ
Facial harmonisation FAQs
What is the difference between facial harmonisation and having filler in one area?
Single-area filler answers one concern, such as thin lips or a flat cheek. Facial harmonisation starts from the whole face and asks which areas, treated together and in what order, will bring your proportions into better balance. Sometimes that means treating the cheeks or chin first, because doing so can soften the folds you originally came in about.
How much does facial harmonisation cost?
There is no single price, because every plan is different. Helena prices each step by area: dermal fillers start from £300 per area, and anti-wrinkle injections from £175 where prescribed. At your £50 consultation she will map out the areas she recommends, the order, and the investment for each, so you can decide how far to take the plan.
How many appointments will it take?
Usually several, spread over a few months. Helena prefers to place the structural areas first, let them settle for a couple of weeks, then assess the lips and lower face with fresh eyes. Working in stages keeps each step conservative, gives you time to live with the change, and avoids doing more than the face needs.
Will I still look like myself?
That is the aim of harmonisation. Helena works towards natural-looking results, restoring what has shifted with time and keeping the character of your face. Each area is treated conservatively and reviewed before anything further is placed, and you decide the pace. The goal is that you look well, and results vary between individuals.
How long do the results of facial harmonisation last?
Dermal filler typically lasts 9 to 18 months depending on the area and the product, with mobile areas such as the lips settling sooner than the cheeks or chin. Anti-wrinkle injections, where prescribed, are reviewed at two weeks and usually hold for three to four months. Helena plans maintenance so the overall balance is kept up over time.
