The initial consultation is where every treatment at Novaderma Aesthetics begins. You spend up to an hour with Helena, a Registered Nurse with a Level 7 Diploma in Facial Aesthetics, talking through what you have noticed, what you would like to change and what you would rather leave alone. She takes a thorough medical history, examines your skin and how your face moves, and gives you an honest view of what will and will not help. You leave with a written plan and clear prices, with no pressure to book anything.

Bring a note of your medicines, supplements, allergies and any previous aesthetic treatments. Come with clean, makeup-free skin where possible so your skin can be properly assessed.

During treatment

What happens at an initial consultation?

Helena starts by listening. Most people arrive with one or two things on their mind: a line that has started to settle, skin that looks tired by the afternoon, or a wish to get ahead of changes before they become concerns. She asks about your general health, medicines, allergies, previous treatments and skin history, then examines your skin in good light and watches how your face moves.

From there she explains what she sees and which treatments, if any, are likely to help. Where a treatment involves a prescription-only medicine, it is provided only after a face-to-face consultation and prescription in line with NMC and MHRA requirements, which is why the consultation always comes first.

Why does the consultation come before any prescription-only treatment?

Anti-wrinkle injections, and treatments for excessive sweating or jaw clenching, use a prescription-only medicine. In the UK that medicine can only be supplied after a face-to-face consultation and a prescription written for you, in line with NMC and MHRA requirements. The consultation is where your suitability is assessed, your history is checked for anything that would rule treatment out, and the prescription is arranged if you decide to go ahead.

Dermal fillers and regenerative treatments such as Profhilo and polynucleotides are medical devices rather than medicines, but Helena applies the same standard to them: a full assessment first, then treatment.

What does the plan look like?

Your plan sets out which treatments Helena recommends, in what order and at what interval, with a price for each. Some plans are a single treatment with a review. Others are a sequence: skin quality first with a regenerative course, then anti-wrinkle injections or filler once the skin is in better condition. Helena talks through price against investment, and what maintenance would look like over a year, so there are no surprises later.

Results vary between individuals, so the plan includes realistic timelines: around two weeks to see the effect of anti-wrinkle injections, and at least three months for skin regeneration treatments.

Who can book, and what if I need to cancel?

Consultations are for adults aged 18 and over. Helena sees clients of all genders, most between 25 and 70, at UNTIL Marylebone on Thursday evenings, Fridays and Saturdays, and at UNTIL Canary Wharf by appointment. If you need to move or cancel, please give at least 2 days' notice so the time can be made available to someone else.

Aftercare

You leave with a written plan and prices. Take your time over it. If you decide to go ahead, treatment is booked as a separate appointment, and any prescription-only medicine is prescribed following your face-to-face consultation.

How much is an initial consultation at Novaderma Aesthetics?

The initial consultation is £50 and lasts up to an hour. It covers your concerns, a thorough medical history, a skin assessment and a written treatment plan with prices for each step. There is no obligation to book treatment afterwards, and the plan is yours to take away and consider.

Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?

Not usually. Anti-wrinkle injections use a prescription-only medicine, which can only be provided after a face-to-face consultation and prescription in line with NMC and MHRA requirements, so those treatments are booked for a later visit. Other treatments usually follow at a separate appointment, once you have had time to consider the plan.

What should I bring to my consultation?

Bring a list of any medicines and supplements you take, details of allergies, and notes on previous aesthetic treatments, including roughly when you had them. Come with clean skin if you can, so Helena can assess it properly. If you have photos of how your face has changed over the years, they are useful too.

Do I have to be a certain age?

You must be 18 or over for any consultation or treatment at Novaderma Aesthetics. Beyond that there is no upper limit. Most of Helena's clients are between 25 and 70, and the plan is built around your skin, your medical history and your goals rather than your age.

What is the cancellation policy?
